2 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking Safari enables one to trek gorillas from Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, starting your journey from Kigali Airport. Here you’re driven from Rwanda on arrival at the airport and cross to Bwindi for the gorilla trekking experience.
Day 1: Drive from Kigali to Bwindi
Upon arrival, you will be taken for a city tour as you visit the genocide memorial and drive around Kigali City before you proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest in southwestern Uganda. En route view of the beautiful scenery, terraced farming to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to half of the endangered mountain gorillas. Dinner and overnight at Buhoma Lodge or Mahogany Springs (luxury lodge), Engagi Lodge/Silverback Lodge (mid-range lodge), or Buhoma Community Bandas (economy lodge).
Day 2: Gorilla tracking in Bwindi.
The day starts with an early morning cup of coffee, then a drive to the briefing center for the briefing about the gorilla trekking do’s and don’ts, and thereafter, entry into the jungle to search for the shy mountain gorillas in the wilderness. After meeting the gorillas, you’re given an hour to take pics and experience how they spend their time in the jungle before exiting the jungle, getting trekking certificates, and finally driving back to Kigali and either being dropped at your lodge or at the airport to catch up with your evening flight.
